Usually I look forward to the summer, but this year, I am not really looking forward to it. Due to our financial situation, both my wife and I need to work this summer, and we needed to figure out some sort of childcare for our children. We were really concerned that we wouldn’t be able to afford daycare. Thankfully, my wife’s parents volunteered to take them, so at least it won’t cost us anything.
But we want to make sure that our children don’t get bored while they are there, so we decided that we would get them some activities to do while they are out there. Grandma and grandpa don’t really have much for kids outdoor toys, so we thought we would get some to have at their home. They already had some jigsaw puzzles (my son’s favorite), but they couldn’t stay cooped up inside all day
Since they live at the lake, we also picked up some beach toys (and a lot of sunscreen) so they can play at the beach every day. I think the kids are really looking forward to it, though I hope we can handle it - neither one of us has been away from them that long before.
